AFCON QUALIFIER: I am Not A Number in Super’s Squad – Ozornwafor

Flying Eagles defender, Valentine Ozornwafor has said that he is ready to fight for a starting position in the centre back of the Super Eagles as team battle Seychelles and Egypt in game.

After securing an invitation to the Nigeria’s Super Eagles camp, Flying Eagles defender Valentines Ozornwafor expressed his happiness on the development but insisted that he will take advantage of the invitation to be part of the team.

His outstanding performance at the just concluded U20 AFCON in Niger earned him a call up to the national team.

His words: “First of all, I want to thank God for everything, I will say it is a dream come true.

“We all work to achieve a greater thing in future, not only to the Super Eagles but to advance to a greater thing that has been our aspirations as a young lad.

“I’m not going to the national team to make up the number and I have set myself a target.

I believed with God and hard work that will be a stepping stone to greater things”, he told SportsDay.

Ozornwaifor will compete with Leon Balogun, William Troost Ekong and Kenneth Omeruo for the center back position in the team.
