Former Monaco of France defender, Elderson Uwa Echiejile has formally revealed his decision to link forces with HJK Helsinki of Finland, which has a strong history of Nigerian players in their team.
Among the lot of recent have been Taye Ismaila Taiwo (The Tornado) and Nnamdi Vincent Oduamadi (Robinho), with Echiejile now confirming that he has added to the number.
Echiejile disclosed that he is happy with the new deal, which comes few months after he left Monaco at the expiration of his contract, during which he never truly settled down with the Ligue 1 club.
Rather than settle at their base in Monte Carlo, the former Insurance of Benin City, Sporting Braga of Portugal and Stade Rennes of France left-back was loaned to Sivasspor of Turkey as well as the Belgian top-flight duo of Standard Liege and Cercle Brugge.
He is now hpoing to pick up the pieces of his career, despite being in his twilight years, as Echiejile stated on social media to he iss happy to join forces with HJK’s squad in the Finnish capital, Helsinki.
Echiejile stated: “I’m happy to inform my fans of my decision to take up a new football challenge in Finland. I’m officially a player of HJK Helsinki #Grateful #Eue3.”
