Nigerian-born midfielder, Onyedikachi Ononogbu has caught the eye at SuperSport United of South Africa, and they have joined the race to sign the 21-year-old rising star from Tshakhuma Tsha Madzihandila.
Ononogbu, who is registered as a South African midfielder, though his father is a Nigerian, is also being chased by Baroka FC, who want to add him to their roster next season.
Ononogbu has a year left on his contract with TTM, hence the show of caution from his manager, Pontsho Madumo, who declined to comment onn the development, despite a hint that he already met Baroka boss, Khurushi Mphahlele after one of the club’s matches in Pretoria.
Matsatsantsa and Bakgaga are both said to have enquired about the availability of the player with the intention to approach TTM for his services during the off-season.
A credible source disclosed: “The clubs have spoken to the agent for the services of the player and the next step now is to approach his team. I guess everything formal will be done at the end of the season.”
