Racing Charleroi of Belgium striker, Victor Osimhen has disclosed that his biggest source of inspiration and motivation in the Super Eagles is Shanghai Greenland Shenhua of China star, Odion Jude Ighalo.
Although Osimhen is being regarded as a new wave striker form the Eagles, especially hitting a hat-trick for the under-23 team in their recent qualifier against Libya, the youngster says it is not easy to play for the senior national side.
However, Osimhen, who is on loan from VfL Wolfsburg to Charleroi and has scored 12 goals in 25 Belgian Pro League games, says he is looking up Ighalo for guidance.
The Chile 2015 FIFA U-17 World Cup highest goals scorer and top goal getter in the history of the Cadet Mundial further declared that he is learning a lot from Ighalo, who he rated very high for the Nigerian team and wants to take after in years to come.
Osimhen added: “It’s very difficult to be in the Super Eagles because we have so many good players doing so well for their clubs. A striker like Odion Ighalo has been an inspiration for me.
“He speaks with me all the time and I have learned a lot from him. He’s an experienced striker and an important player in the team.”
