Arsenal boss Unai Emery has announced Danny Welbeck’s career is over.
Arsenal’s hopes of reaching the Champions League took a monumental blow after drawing to Brighton at the Emirates on Sunday.
Welbeck will see his contract expire at the end of the season and there are no plans afoot to extend those terms.
And Emery was short but sweet with his assessment of the situation.
The Spaniard simply said: “I spoke with the club and the decision is he is going to leave.”
Welbeck joined Arsenal in 2014 but his time in north London has been ravaged by injuries, making just 88 appearances in the Premier League over five seasons.
