Kano Pillars’ battling midfielder, Paul Hillary Ikenna has opened up on some of the factors that account for his tough-playing style and ability to keep going strong, as he says only tough people last long.
Amidst his sterling roles with Sai Masu Gida so far this season, the former Shooting Stars of Ibadan lanky lad, who has also seen action in Malta and Spain, said he is grateful to God as well.
While hinting that God’s grace has kept him going strong, Ikenna added in a post on social media that only tough people can overcome troubled days and remain strong.
The former home-based player, who was part of Nigeria’s bronze medal-winning squad to the 2014 Championship of African Nations (CHAN) in South Africa, admitted that it is tough to live, and twice as much to be a successful player, but stressed that such moments do not last long.
In what could be his most philosophical comment on social media this year, Ikenna posted: “Tough time don’t last, but Tough people do last #Grace/Grateful.”
