Dalung Has Helped Nigerian Karate Go Higher – Agara

Nigeria Karate Federation (NKF) president, Silas Agara has showered praise on the sports minister, Barrister Solomon Dalung for his efforts in support of the enhanced growth of the  country.

Agara, who is also the deputy governor of Nasarawa State, further hailed Dalung for helping the karate federation move to greater height, which he says helped Nigeria in winning two gold and one bronze medals at at the recent Ufak Zone 3 Championship in Abidjan, Cote d’Ivoire.

The tournament, which started May 7th ended last Sunday, with teams from Ghana, Togo, Benin Republic, Liberia, Niger Republic, Burkina Faso, Nigeria and hosts Cote d’Ivoire competing.

Olorunmbe Benjamin won gold in the individual Kata event while Ifeanyi Ogene clinched gold in the 67kg event. Fagboro Agboola, Benjamin and Fagboro Dimeji teamed up to win bronze in the Kata team event.

Speaking further in his reflections on Nigeria’s success at the regional competition, Agara also lauded members of the Federation’s board for their support to ensure a successful outing.
