Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) technical committee chairman, Alhaji Ahmed Fresh has declared that the country’s youth national team, Flying Eagles are good enough to win this year’s FIFA U-20 World Cup in Poland.
Casting his mind ahead of the team’s opening match of the championship against Qatar on Friday, Fresh reckoned that the Flying Eagles have gone through an adequate build-up programme, which he believes has put Paul Aigbogun’s wards in the right frame for success.
He commended the NFF leadership for outlining an adequate preparation programme for the squad, which he says the technical committee helped them activate to the letter, and says the task is now up to the players to complement the officials’ efforts and justify all confidence given them.
The technical committee boss took to social media to reveal his view and expectations, with a verdict that the team, which moved from their pre-competition training base in Germany to Poland on Sunday, has the best set of players Aigbogun could have listed for the task ahead.
Fresh posted: “The Nigeria U20 Boys have arrived in Poland for the World Cup.
“We have received the camping reports in Germany & we believe the coach has selected the best in this category.
“As work progresses for the Technical & Development Committee. Let’s get behind the team & support them.”
