Bournemouth of England midfielder, Nnamdi Ofoborh has disclosed that he is enjoying the atmosphere of fun and excitement at the ongoing FIFA U-20 World Cup in Poland, all of which he says it is better than anything he had previously witnessed at club level.
Although he is yet to hit the ground running on the pitch, after playing as a late substitute in Nigeria’s opening win against Qatar, he sat out the 2-0 loss to USA and was replaced after starting against Ukraine in Thursday’s belaboured 1-1 draw, Ofoborh insists he is enjoying his time in Poland.
While reflecting on the few days he has spent with the Nigerian youth national team so far in Poland, Ofoborh described his nine-minute show in the Flying Eagles’ 4-0 thrashing of Qatar as a dream come true.
The 19-year-old midfiedler declared further that his first outing at the Youth Mundial will remain special to him for a long time to come, but added he would love to get more playing time in forthcoming games.
He stppped off Nigeria’s bench for Manchester City midfielder, Tom Dele-Bashiru with nine minutes left as the Flying Eagles opened Group D with a massive win, and Ofoborh says the atmosphere in Poland is quite different from what he has experienced all along with Bournemouth.
Ofoborh told AOIFootball.com: “This is my first major tournament and coming on felt so different compared to the normal game in England. It was a lot more special.”
