Eagles Have All They Need To Succeed – Akinwunmi

Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) first vice-president, Barrister Seyi Akinwumi has emphatically declared that the Super Eagles have already received everything the need to succeed at this year’s Africa Cup of Nations in Egypt.

Speaking ahead of the team’s resumption of camping this Sunday in Asaba, Delta State, Akinwunmi stressed that the NFF have put the right things and conditions in place to make the players comfortable and prime themselves for a heroic outing at Egypt 2019.

Nigeria will be gunning for a fourth ever title at the continental soccer showpiece, which they last won in 2013, but then missed the last two editions in 2015 and 2017, but Akinwunmi says the players will have no excuse for failure, staring June 22 against Burundi.

After facing the debutants from East Africa in their first match, the Eagles, who were also winners on home soil in 1980 and way in Tunisia in 1994, will play fellow-West Africans Guinea and then another first time comer, Madagascar, all of who Akinwunmi says should not stop Nigeria.

Akinwunmi declared during Metro Sports in Lagos: “We have laid the proper ground for them, and we expect them to do well.

“Everything they need has been put in place. All they now have to do is to go there and bring the trophy back home.”
