Osimhen Seals  £3.5m Permanent Deal With Charleroi

Chile 2015 FIFA U-17 Worfld Cup top scorer, Victor Osimhen has finally sealed a permanent deal with Sporting Charleroi of Belgium, to which he makes a  £3.5m move in a five year deal from VfL Wolfsburg of Germany.

Osimhen has been rewared with the new deal, following a remakarble debut season in Belgium, where he had earlier been rejected during trials with Zulte Waregem, after three years of struggling at Wolfsburg.

However, Osimhen’s struggling days are over, after he scored 20 goals in all competitions for Charleroi last season and the Belgian top-flight club have activated an option of signing him permanently from The Wolves.

Wolfsburg, whose previous Nigerian presence was Jonathan Akpoborie and Obafemi Akinwunmi Martins, are due 20% from Osimhen’s future transfer, as the lad, who is also the eternatl highest goals scorer in the history of the Cadet Mundial looks good for more progressions.

Interestingly, the youngster, who recently scored a hat-trick for Nigeria’s under-23 national team, Olympic Eagles, had been curried this summer for deals at Lille Metropole of France, Southampton of England and AC Milan of Italy, but the 20-year-old opted to stay put at Charleroi.

Interestingly, Osimhen’s market value had been put at £30m, but his deal with Charleroi is worth only £3.5m, yet with a salary that makes him the highest earning player in their team.

There is, however, a strong hint that Charleroi broke their transfer fee to sign Osimhen because they plan to sell him at a profit, believing they can cash in on his status as their top scorer, with 20 goals in 36 games.

Belgian popular newspaper, La Derniere Heure added: “Mehdi Bayat, the managing director of Sporting Charleroi, confirmed Friday that the club have officially exercised their purchase option to buy the Nigeria international and will pay 3.5 million euros to the Bundesliga club.”
