Kano Pillars technical adviser, Ibarahim Musa has opined that his side will emerge top of the Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL) Super-6, even if they end the campaign with nine points, as he believes no other team in the contest can get ten points.
Heading into Monday’s fourth match of the campaign, against Rangers International of Enugu, Pillars had seven points, from two victories and a draw, such that Musa felt confident his side would emerge champions at the end of all fixtures at Agege Stadium, Lagos on Wednesday.
Musa posited as much during an interview with Mega Sports on Star 101.5 FM, Lagos, in which he praised the efforts of his players so far and stressed that Sai Masu Gida have enough quality to hold out till the end.
He enthused further that The City of Groundnut Pyramids side are already showing the stuff champions are made of, and reckoned that they will be crowned winners of the league once again once they avoid defeat in their last two matches of the series.
The Pillars’ gaffer stated: “I am happy with what we’ve done so far, and we want to keep doing well.
“It’s not easy, but we happy that we are top, and I believe we will remain on top till the final whistle in this competition.
“We got seven points from our first three matches, which means we can win the competition even if we draw our next two matches.
“Nine points should be enough for us to win the Super-6, because I don’t think any of the other teams can get ten points.”
