AFCON My Major Tournament with Super Eagles ——-Samuel Kalu

Super Eagles winger Samuel Kalu Ojim has assured that he will take the African Football Cup of Nation serious as it is his first major tournament with the Nigeria Super Eagles.

In a brief chat with SportsDy in Asaba recently,football des Girondins de Bordeaux winger expressed joy of making the final AFCON list, adding that his presence will make a huge impact when the tournament kicks off this month.

The 21 years old player said, “For me It is am amazing feeling because of who I am. This tournament is my major tournament with the Super Eagles and I must take it very serious. I must say I am very happy,”

Speaking on his chances of scoring goals, Kalu maintained that it would be a problem for him and other strikers when the tournament starts in June 21st.

“I don’t think scoring goals will be our problem in Egypt. don’t forget the rain denied us those chances but we still did our best.

“We will play one more friendly in Egypt before the competition starts, as for me I believe in the strikers we have because we are good in the attack,”

Talking about the group, Kalu stated that no team is a push over but optimistic that the Super Eagles will excel.

“Everyone is saying that the group is an easy group but I must say it is not, we should not underrate any team because Burundi is coming to AFCON after so many year so they will take it very serious to remain in the competition as well Madagascar also like Burundi both countries will fight very hard for them to pass the group stage.

All we just have to keep on our focus and not to look down on any team.

He urge the fans all over the World to keep on believing in the Super Eagles assuring they will make the nation proud.

Samuel Kalu is among the 5 young new players added to the squad that will represent Nigeria as Egypt 2019.

Super Eagles will take on Brurndi, Madagascar and Guinea in the group stage of the tournament.
