Nigeria Basketball Federation (NBBF) have sent out hearty birthday greetings to USA-based female national team, D’Tigress star, Ezinne Kalu, who clocked 27 on Wednesday.
Though the message came a little late, the NBBF made up for lost time by reeling out superlatives in celebrating with the female basketball star, who grew up America but switched allegiance to star for Nigeria.
The Germany-based star, who was born June 26, 1992 in Newark, United States, played for the Nigerian’s female national team at the 2016 FIBA Women’s Olympic Games qualifying tournament in 2016.
She also participated at the 2017 Women’s AfroBasket, during which she averaged 12 points and three assists per game, en route to D’Tigress winning the competition in Bamako, Mali.
Kalu also participated in the 2018 FIBA Women’s Basketball World Cup in Spain with D’Tigress, during which she averaged 10.6 points, with 4.1 assists and three rebounds per game, as Nigeria got to the quarter-finals for the first time ever.
Now on the cards of Rutronik Stars Keltern in Germany, Ezinne continues being a pivotal part of D’Tigress, such that NBBF rightly felt it would be a disservice to her should they forget to give her a shout-out on her birthday.
Consequently, the NBBF took to social media to celebrate the amazing lass, with a supplication that she will gain more happiness in the wake of another glorious birthday of bliss.
The NBBF stated: “We hope today being your special day will bring you lots of happiness and fun.
“@nbbfonline cannot write the story of the 2017 AFROBASKET win and the @FIBAWC quarter final feat without talking about Kalu Ezinne. Have a fabulous celebration to an amazing Tigress.”
