Super Eagles defender William Troost Ekong has described the assistant captain Ahmed Musa and Kenneth Omeruo as an inspiration to the team, as they are ready to battle to Cameroon in the round of 16 in the on going African Cup of Nation slated for Alexzandria stadium on Saturday.

Ahmed musa and Kenneth Omeruo was among the squad that won the AFCON tournament for Nigeria in 2013.

Speaking during a press conference, Ekong said, “It is true I played in the world cup but this is my first AFCON appearance and it has been a good motivation for me.

“Musa and Kenneth have told us their stories of AFCON, how they felt winning the trophy for Nigeria, how it opened doosr for them in Nigeria and it got into my memory because I want to make history as well and hopefully our game tomorrow will prove it all,” he Said.

Speaking on their encounter against Cameroon,he said “it is not going to be an easy one for us but the truth is that our last game against Madagascar was a lesson to all us which we have learnt and ready to correct,” Ekong added.
