NNL Season Heats Up, Hits Climax On July 13

Action gets hotter in the second-tier division, Nigerian National League (NNL) this weekend, as penultimate round of matches hold on Saturday and Sunday, while the last day of the campaign will be next Sunday, July 13, with all matches holding simultaneously across the country.

This much was disclosed by NNL media officer, Amar Ignis, who stated in a message to SportsDay that the northern and southern conferences of the lower league will be agog this weekend and next, as clubs battle for promotion and others fight to avoid relegation.

The ace sports broadcaster, commentator, actor, master of ceremony and youth football promoter added that the NNL has been stiffer this season, as matches have held unabated in eight groups, four for each of the conferences, with some former top-flight clubs in the race.

Among the former top division clubs that have competed for spoils this season in the NNL are Warri Wolves, Mighty Jets, Jigawa Golden Stars, Shooting Stars, Bayelsa United and FC Taraba, all of which Ignis says have made the competition more exciting to follow in the outgoing campaign.

Ignis disclosed: “End of season final League matches (Match DAY Ten), have been schedule to hold simultaneously across the country.

“The games are fixed for Saturday – 06-07-19, Sunday- 07-07-19, and Saturday 13-07-19.

“Northern Conference A1, Date: Saturday 06-07-19, Kick off: 2PM, Bye- Kaduna Utd, EFCC of Abuja v NAF Rockets of Abuja, Kada City v Malumfashi of Katsina

“A2, Date: 06-07-19, Kick off: 4PM, Bye – FC Taraba, FC Yarmalight of Gombe v Kogi Utd, Jigawa GS v FC Zamfara

“A3, Date: 06-07-19, Kick off: 4PM, Bye – Real Stars of Kaduna, Bimo SC of Abuja v Green Beret, Zaria, Road Safety, Abuja v Rarara FC, Katsina

“A4, Date: 13-07-19, Kick off: 4PM, Mighty Jets,Jos v Giodano of Kano, Sokoto Utd v ABS FC, Ilorin, Aklosendi Int’l, Lafia v Adamawa Its
