Arsenal of England youth team player, James Olayinka is on the rise at Emirates Stadium, as he has received a nod to join the main squad in training.
Although the elevation comes at a point when most of The Gunners’ regular players are yet to report for pre-season training, Olayinka will take special delight in the chance to prove his talent.
Olayinka is expected to line out under the wily eyes of Arsenal coach, Unai Emery for a week, after the Spanish gaffer invited the Nigerian-born main team to train with The Gunners’ main team at London Colney.
The 18-year-old Olayinka, who signed his first professional contract with Arsenal in January 2019, twelve years after he joined the club, had a fine season last time out, during which he played in the Premier League 2, EFL Trophy, FA Youth Cup, U18 Premier League and U18 League Cup.
Though a defensive midfielder, Olayinka, who also trained with Arsenal’s main team as a first-year scholar in November 2017, scored his first goal for for the club in a 7-0 demolition of Leicester City U18 in August 2018.
He was also included in the first team’s roster to a warm weather camp in Dubai, United Arab Emirates in March this year.
