Jinadu Not Officially Invited To Eaglets – Manu

Nigeria’s cadet national team, Golden Eaglets’ coach, Man Garba has disclosed that West Ham United of England youth squad goalkeeper, Daniel Jinadu has now been invited officially to join his camp ahead of the FIFA U-17 World Cup in Brazil.

Garba, though, went on to declare that Jinadu is welcome to try his luck out in training with the team even without a formal invitation, as he says some good players have been spotted for the squad through similar style, especially on recommendations to his technical crew or officials.

The former Wikki Tourist of Bauchi coach and UAE 2013 FIFA U-17 World Cup-winning coach, with a squad that included Kelechi Iheanacho, Taiwo Awoniyi and Isaac Success, said he is satisfied with the goalkeepers that are currently at his disposal, but said Jinadu can still try to break in.

The ex-youth international, who was part of Nigeria’s squad to Chile ’97 World Youth Championship (WYC) added that the same applies to every position in the Eaglets’ current squad, but admitted he would love to go to Brazil 2019 with the core of the lads that were with him through the African zonal and continental qualifiers.

Garba told Owngoalnigeria.com: “We didn’t invite him formally ‎but our doors are always open.

“We have some talented goalkeepers in the team; meaning anybody coming has to be better than the options we have at the moment.

“It’s the same for every position. Normally people approach either my technical crew or Nigeria Football Federation and recommend players.

“Through that means we have gotten some boys. We’ve already played two tournaments with these set of players.

“They are going to form the bulk of the team; but new players are welcome particularly if they are better than the ones we have.”
