Dream Team Fall To Sudan In AFCON Qualifier

Nigeria’s u23 national team popularly known as the Dream Team after the Nwankwo Kanu led Atlanta ’96 feat by winning fell short on Thursday when the took their Sudanese counterparts in Omdurman in the first leg of their AFCON\Olympics qualifier.

A first half strike was all the Sudanese to get the Imama Amakakpabo tutored side chasing the game all through the second half. He tried to string changes in the attack and midfield but it really did not count as Sudan held on tightly to win the first leg tie.

The return leg is scheduled for the Stephen Keshi stadium in Asaba, September 10. The team is said to be exuding confidence for the return leg as they are sure they will take out the Sudanese when they come to Nigeria for that encounter in Asaba.
