Leganes of Spain defender, Kenneth Omeruo has sent a heartfelt birthday message to his younger brother, Lucky, with emotional words of supplication for better days ahead of the lad, who recently signed a full contract with Waasland-Beveren of Belgium.
Although Lucky had initially been in the youth team of Leganes, tapping from the presence of his older sibling in the senior squad, he opted to seek his own destiny elsewhere earlier this season, but that has not stopped his more popular brother from thinking about him.
The 23-year-old Omeruo Jnr got the nod to join Beveren after he played as a right back for the lowly-rated Belgian club in a 2-1 loss to the more popular KV Westerlo, yet he excelled in the game, despite being more pronounced as a winger during his previous days with Birkirkara, Pembroke Athleta, Tarxien Rainbows and St. George of Malta as well as FK Palanga of Lithuania.
He actually previously enjoyed a full contract with Palanga, who noted during his unveiling that he is more talented than his older brother, but predicted a brighter future ahead of the lad, who started out with Bayelsa United of Yenagoa, and was in Nigeria’s 30-player provisional list for the 2013 FIFA U20 World Cup in Turkey and trained with the Olympic Eagles before Rio 2016 Games.
Though the youngster is now married and is seeking his golden fleece away from his brother’s terrain, the older Omeruo continues keeping him in mind, while playing the role of big brother and mentor all in one, as if to create a new legacy of siblings in the Nigerian national team.
To prove that out of sight is not out of mind, Omeruo took to social media to celebrate Lucky’s birthday, with a reel out of lavish prayers for better things to come in the lad’s career, strength to excel, the grace of God guiding him and long life added to his days on earth.
Omeruo stated: “Happy Birthday My Blooder @lucky_omeruo you shall be established above your expectations I love you Long time bro.. May God bless and Keep you.. May God Give you the Strength and courage you will need to Excel.”
