Milwaukee Bucks of America’s National Basketball Association (NBA) Nigerian-born star, Giannis Adetokunbo (Antetokounmpo) has set for himself a target of shooting more from range and getting a larger chunk of three-pointers for his team in the coming season.
Despite being named most valuable player last season, Antetokounmpo says he wants to do even better in a three-point crazed league, as his scorecard of the past campaign showed that he was able to enact just 25.6% from Beyond The Arc.
He is equally worried about his chances of finally helping The Bucks win the championship in the 2019-20 season, but Antetokounmpo, who plays at national team level for Greece, admits he must now step up his game and should be able to execute the 3-point shot effectively.
NBA pundits, though, believe Antetokounmpo cannot shoot from range, and ‘The Greek Freak’ has now admitted that he would be a better player if he can figure out a way to shoot league average from deep, which would limit what defenses can do against the high-octane Milwaukee offense.
That would complement how good Antetokounmpo is at everything else on a basketball floor, but he wants to get even better and he has now come out to pointedly acknowledged that it means he must add a three-point shot accuracy to his game in the coming season..
Antetokounmpo declared: “I can still win the championship not shooting the three, but I want to shoot the three. I shot the three a little bit better this year, as the season went along I was getting better. Shooting the three is gonna make it a lot easier for my game and a lot easier for my teammates, so I gotta add that element to my game.”
