Shanghai Shenhua of China striker, Odion Jude Ighalo has taken his motivational efforts one step further, by rolling out spiritual words to inspire his fans at home and abroad into the last month of 2019, with encouraging words for everyone to stay strong and hopeful, as December starts this Sunday.
Ighalo took a quote in the Bible to buttress his declaration for a glorious December 2019 for all Nigerians and soccer fans across the world, as the former Julius Berger FC of Lagos, Prime FC of Osogbo, Lyn Oslo of Norway, Udinese of Italy, Granada of Spain, Watford of England and Changchun Yatai of China star stressed how important it is for everyone to have the Holy Spirit in the scheme of things.
Even as he is still in euphoria over the goal he scored in midweek, Ighalo already has his eyes on the new month, ahead of which he went philosophical and spiritual in reminding his fans to always follow the words of Nehemiah about the role God’s mercy plays in everyone’s life.
It is another emotional revelation from Ighalo, who was equally solemn and thankful after netting another goal in Shenhua’s final game of the season, and chose to stay on the bright side, despite his team languishing in 13th position with 30 points in the Chinese Super League.
Despite his team’s struggles and his personal battles with injuries, Ighalo said he is happy that his form is still going strong, but acknowledged further that staying focused, being dedicated to club activities and able to discipline himself off the pitch are helping him stay on top.
In the wake of his side’s 3-1 loss to visiting Jiangsu Suning at Hongkou Stadium on Wednesday, the 30-year-old 2019 Africa Cup of Nation top scorer added that he was glad to hit his 11th goal of the season with a penalty, but noted that it is not by his own might but through God’s mercy.
Ighalo took to social media to air his latest view on life and how to move ahead through God’s support, instead of relying on mortal limitations, which he hinted has always helped him be on top of his game, as he posted via @judeighalofans reads: “The Race Is Not To The Swift, Nor The Battle Is For The Strong, But It Is Of The Lord That Showeth MERCY.”
