2021/2022 NNL: ABS unveil 24 players

Abubakar Bukola Saraki (ABS) Ilorin FC have unveiled 24 new players ahead of the 2021/2022 Nigeria National League (NNL) season.

ABS Ilorin FC will face Yobe Desert Stars in their first match at the Kwara Stadium Complex, Ilorin on Saturday.

The Director of Football ABS FC, Chief Alloy Chukwuemeka told newsmen during the unveiling that the club signed young players to boost their chances of returning to the Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL).

Chief Chukwuemeka said the game against Yobe Desert Stars will be tough adding that both teams have clashed at the NPFL few seasons ago

He said, “The NNL season is expected to resume tomorrow (Saturday), we are playing one of the biggest matches of week 1.

“Both teams have played in the Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL) before but I can assure you that we are always ready. Our target is to play this season alone and return to the NPFL.

“We take exceptional players at ABS Ilorin FC, the club does not sign old players or pensioners.

“We sign a bunch of young players as you can see those we unveiled today” Chukwuemeka said.

“During ABS FC’s last whipped a team Aro United FC of Edo state 14-0. That is to show you the stuff the players are made of before they match against Yobe Desert Stars.”

He revealed that the deal between ABS Ilorin FC and Top Sports Management comes with several packages including three-year kit sponsorship.

The Secretary of NPFL Club Owners said, “The deal between ABS and Top Sports Management is mouth-watering in the sense that we are going to get a full package of three-year kit sponsorship, training facilities, exposure of players abroad including other cash backing.

“I want to assure you that it is a good vista and go a long way in helping the club to run professionally.

“The fans have been supportive to the team and they know the club does what is right professionally. I urge our fans to continue to conduct themselves and the NPFL is our aim.”
