A board member of the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) and Chairman of the Chairmen Ibrahim Gusau has said that Rivers United need a positive mentality to enable them do better in the return leg against Al Masry in the ongoing CAF confederation Cup play off.

Rivers Defeated Al Masry 2-1 in the first leg played at Enyimba international Stadium on Sunday with the goals from Iqak Sadic and Uche onwuasoanya both scored in the first half.

Gusau told SportsDayonline after the game in Aba that, ” I must say we thank God for winning in the game but we expected the goals to be more than that because if you observed the way the boys played in the first half but in the second half the game changed.

“it is left for the technical crew to go back and watch the game every well and see what they can do to press them in the second leg the mot important thing is that we won the first leg.

“The management need to work on the players mentality because some of the players are behaving as if they are not professionals. the only aspect is that you may have the talent or have what it takes to be a player but the issue there is the mentality has be to focus on what you are doing to show that one is a professional.

“The management need to really let this boys understand they are in a serious business and this is continental and not a child’s play. they have to honestly work on their mentality that the most important thing now atleast to see if they will do better away,” Gusau explained.
