The Confederation of African Football has revealed the shirt numbers the Super Eagles will be wearing at the 2021 Africa Cup of Nations.

Watford loanee Maduka Okoye will be wearing the number 1 kit, suggesting that he is the first choice goalkeeper at the tournament in Cameroon, while Daniel Akpeyi, Francis Uzoho and John Noble will sport the number 16, 23, 27 respectively.

The iconic number ten shirt which is usually reserved for the star player in a team will be worn by Rangers midfielder Joe Aribo.

The number was previously worn by John Obi Mikel, Austin Jay-Jay Okocha, Henry Nwosu and Friday Ekpo at previous tournaments.

2015 U17 World Cup-winning captain Kelechi Nwakali will play his first senior national team tournament for Nigeria wearing jersey number 25, the club number of his mentor Kanu Nwankwo for the majority of his career although he uses jersey number 4 for Nigeria back then while Samuel Chukwueze is the number 17.
