2023 Access Bank Lagos City Marathon gets 7am start

Date:

Organisers of the Gold-Label Access Bank Lagos City Marathon says the start time for the 2023 edition will be 7am.

This, according to the organisers is to avoid delay as witnessed at the 2022 edition.

“At last year’s race we noticed some darkness at the starting point which obstructed some of the opening formalitites such that we have to delay the flag off for some

minutes.

“That is why, for this year’s race, the official flag off time has been readjusted and rescheduled for 7am and not 6am as it used to be in previous races,’ said Bukola

Olapade, organiser of the second road race after the Okpekpe international 10km to be granted a label status by World Athletics.

Olopade also revealed that the elite cast for the race will arrive a day earlier than they have been doing since the inception of the race.

This, according to him is to enable the elite athletes record a good time in the Gold-Label event billed to February 4, 2023 in Lagos.

“This early arrival is aimed at giving the athletes the opportunity to understand and perfect the route.
