Former Chelsea star, Salomon Kalou has tipped Nigeria, Senegal and South Africa to qualify for the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations, AFCON, which will take place in Cote d’Ivoire.
Recall that the 2023 AFCON draw was conducted on Tuesday evening in Johannesburg, South Africa.
Thirty-two countries are expected to make it to Cote d’Ivoire in 2023.
Nigeria is in Group A, alongside Sierra Leone, Guinea Bissau and Sao Tome and Principe.
And Kalou is confident the Super Eagles will qualify from the group.
“I think it’s a good group [for the Super Eagles]. I think Nigeria is a team that will always qualify.
“They will be the favourites of the group while the second place is open for the other three teams,” Kalou told SuperSport.
He added, “Bafana Bafana are a strong team, they need to come back to the frontline now. I think they’re capable of qualifying from this group.
“There are no easy games but I think it is going to be easy for Senegal. They’re the defending champions and I feel they will go through.
“For Benin Republic, Rwanda and Mozambique, it’s going to be 50-50.”
