African soccer governing body is considering a change in dates of Matchday 5 and 6 of the 2023 African Cup of Nations qualifiers.
After Matchday 3 and 4 of the qualifier, only 7 countries including host Ivory Coast have secured their spot in the competition remaining 17 spots to be filled.
According to the update from CAF headquarters in Cairo, Egypt, the FIFA window for June, would be dedicated exclusively to friendly matches and member associations want to take part in the friendly matches.
The idea is to postpone Matchday 5 to September while Matchday 6 will take place in October or November.
CAF is prepared to communicate the new development to the member associations before the official announcement.
