2023 AFCON: Super Eagles camp opens in Abu Dhabi in January

The Super Eagles will begin preparations for the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations on January 2nd, 2024.

The three-time African champions will camp in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates (UAE) for the competition.

The invited players are expected to start arriving at camp on January 1st.

Jose Peseiro’s side will take part in a three-nation tournament in the UAE ahead of the competition.

Democratic Republic of Congo and Burkina Faso are the two other countries that will take part in the tournament.

Peseiro is expected to submit his 55-man provisional squad for the Confederation of African Football (CAF) on Thursday.

The final list must be submitted to CAF by January 7, 2024.

The Super Eagles are drawn in Group A with hosts Cote d’Ivoire, Equatorial Guinea and Guinea-Bissau.
