The President of the Saudi Arabia Football Association Yasser Al-Mishal has expressed his excitement after FIFA announced the country as the host of the 2023 Club World Cup.
North African country Morocco staged the 2022 edition and Real Madrid emerged victorious over Al Ahly of Egypt.
The World soccer ruling body on Tuesday afternoon made the announcement and the Saudi football supremo was on hand to thank them.
” Today, Saudi football is witnessing unprecedented growth, and it has become the focus of the world’s attention as a result of the keenness of our wise leadership and the great support of His Highness, Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman.
The strong tournament is very popular around the world, and always carries competition and excitement, in addition to recording many surprises and historical moments since its inception.
I would also like to thank FIFA for their confidence in us in presenting an exceptional version of this world championship”, he said.
