The draws for the 2026 Federations Cup for Delta State Football Association, DFA, has been done with Excellent Football Club Ughelli locking horns with Morak Football Club of Uvwie in the opening match scheduled for Friday at the Oleh Township Stadium.
The draws which held at the Patrick Okpomo House, Headquarters of the Delta State Football Association also threw up other mouth wateting clashes with Go Pro Football Club of Sapele facing off against Delta Marines Football Club of Asaba just as Raiders Football Club of Asaba meets Alloy Football Club of Agbarho in the first round. Other fixtures will see Lord Honour Football Club of Warri tackles Winsome Football Academy of Oporoza with Issele Uku Football Club clashes against Telectual Football Club of Warri while FC Planners of Ughelli takes on Ogunbor Football Club of Sapele just another Sapele based clubside Itamah Football Club locks horns with Winsome Football Club of Gbaramatu.
Bumaphil Football Club of Kwale will try Young Soccer Academy of Issele Uku for size while Umuaja Football Club of Umuaja contends with Igho Football Club of Sapele.
Speaking after the draws the Chairman of the Delta State Football Association, Chief Godwin Adode lauded the 22 teams that registered for this year’s edition for their commitment to thee growth of the sport in thee state saying with the recent deal with Arthur Ferdinand Limited as sponsors the states football would witness a dramatic improvement and turn around in the fortunes of the club sides.

Chief Adode averred that the winners would get 5 million naira with the runner up getting 3 million while the winners in the female edition gets 1 million naira and runners up collecting 500 thousand naira.
The DFA Chairman however enjoined the teams to play by the rules in a bid to give the state a solid representation at the National stage.

The Managing Director of Arthur Ferdinand Limited, Chief Moro Idama represented by the General Manager of the firm, Mr. Ese Ikuku averred that the decision to partner with the Delta State Football Association was to revive the dwindling fortunes of the state in the round leather game stressing that with the new found partnership they believer that clubs in the state would be able to hold their own against their counterparts across thee country.
Chief Idama revealed that the firm was also keen on creating a special fans experience with several incentives like branded jerseys, caps and other items expected to be freely given to fans at match venues.
Meanwhile defending champions Warri Wolves and runners up Sapele Lions have been drawn bye to the quarter final stage with the best winner in thee group stage also getting into the quarter final stage while the best loser in the second round would also qualify to the quarter final stage of the competition.
