41 Teams Jostle For BDFA -RAK Football League Top Prize

…As Hostilities Kick Off Across Various Centres

No fewer than 41 teams are battle ready to participate in the 2024 Badagry Division Football Association (BDFA) -RAK football league competition billed to commence this weekend across different centres in the division, organisers said.

The tournament, which has suffered some previous postponements due largely to circumstances beyond the control of the organisers, we scooped will eventually kick off this Saturday to the delight of both spectators and officials.

The league, which will last for the next one month is organised by Badagry Divisional Football Association and sponsored by RAK Foundation.

In the match fixtures released recently by the technical committee under the Chairmanship of Steven Degboe and made available to the media, several matches are scheduled to go down across zones on Saturday, even as he pleaded with teams to play according to the rules and regulations

In Badagry zone, Group A, International FA face Legend FC by 8am while Topmost FC will battle New Era FC by 10am.

Meanwhile, two Matches will hold in Group B as the tournament progresses. GGSL will host Lions feeders by 12noon, while Paslaw FC will slug it out with Master FC by 2pm.

However, focus would shift to Ojo zone where Young Pro will try Straightway FC for size by noon, while Potential FC meet Franky Best by 2pm, just as Power Of De Cross clash with Leads United by 4pm in group A.

Still in Ojo zone, action would take place in group C, as Young Stars welcome Emaljus by noon, while SC Heritage battle Chekas United by 2pm, as Isashi FC lock horns with Royal FC by 4pm.

In Ajeromi zone, three matches have been lined up to take place. Young Talented face Justice Glorious Intervention FC by 10am, while Top FC meet Coljeny FC by noon. AJ Young Stars tackle Global Light FA by 2pm.

Chairman Technical Committee of BDFA, Degboe appealed to the teams to come to their match venue on time and avoid lateness that might warrant or lead to walkover.

“We are ready for the league and all the venues for the matches are in good shape. We the technical commiittee would do our own part to ensure that teams comply to the laid down rules throughout the league, “he said.

Degboe further stated that any team that violates the rules would face disciplinary actions and admonished the coaches, players and fans to shun vices that can affect the image of the league.

“We are doing our best to make sure that all the teams are treated fairly. We are not interested in any club or the other but what we are interested in is to to see good football and see the best two teams in final, I wish all the teams best of luck in their outings” he noted.
