Nigeria national league has ruled that the 2-1 scoreline of the match day 16 clash between home side Kogi United and the away team,J.M.Liberty of Makurdi will not stand.

This is following reports of both the match Commissioner ,the Referee and other independent Assessors designated at the encounter held at the Confluence Stadium,Lokoja on Saturday 11 of June,2022.

The report has it that scores stood at 1-1 after additional time added when the unruly fans and players of Kogi United evaded the pitch of play,harassed threatened to deal with the referee if he did not give them a penalty.

They threw missiles at the referees who under duress awarded a penalty to save their lives even in front of security operatives who they overwhelmed.

The various reports submitted to NNL ruled the match as having ended 1-1 in favor of both sides.

Therefore,invoking the vital portion of the NNL rule book ,the league body upheld the decisions that the result of the match stands at 1-1 and not 2-1.

NNL also ruled that Kogi United will play their next two home games under strict and controlled closed doors.

Equally,Chairman of Kogi United Hon.Abdulmalik Isa ,their Technical Adviser,Mr.Afolabi Ojekunle and Assistant coach Mr.Chidi Oji ,were issued final warning for the inglorious roles they played and that any repeat of such will mean a stiffer sanction to them.
