Chelsea of England striker, Tammy Abraham is heading for an improved contract at Stamford Bridge, which will see him earn £100,000 a week with the London based English Premier League club.

With Abraham making the best of his first full season with The Blues, as he is is on a roll of goals and has a recall to the England senior national team to boot, his value has escalated within a few months, and the club’s hierarchy admit he deserves a raise in wages.

Consequently, Abraham is now heading towards a new, improved contract, as Chelsea aim to further motivate the 22-year-old striker, who is currently joint top of the EPL’s scoring charts with Manchester City’s Sergio Aguero.

His blistering start to the season and impressive form under Chelsea’s former player-turned-manager, Frank Lampard marks a continuum from how Abraham also top scored while on loan at Aston Villa last season in the lower cadre English Championship.

A report by Sky Sport Italia has now disclosed that Chelsea are confident they will soon reach terms of a new deal with Abraham, who has been so effective in maintaining the momentum of his 26-goal season with Villa in the past campaign.

The Blues’ academy graduate admitted he is happy with his ability to reward Lampard’s faith in him so early this season, as he romped back from the nightmare of his missed penalty in the European Super Cup loss to Liverpool and has gone on to knock home eight goals in the EPL.

Abraham enthused: “I could not have asked for a better start with Chelsea. Since I was a young boy, I’ve always had a dream that I would break into the first team one day. Not only have I done that, I am scoring goals. It’s going well. It’s still early doors. I am happy with the way I’ve started. I’ve always believed in myself, it’s still early. I’ve got to keep on trying to help the team.”
