Abuja set for NOC/Sports For All Solidarity seminar

A Total of 35 fitness Trainers drawn from across the country have been listed for the Nigeria Olympic Committee (NOC) /Sports For All Commission Solidarity fitness training Seminar holding between September 17 and 20 at the Association of National Olympic Committees in Africa (ANOCA) Secretariat, Jabi, Abuja.

 According to the Sports for All Commission Secretary, Augustine Odijie, arrangements towards the successful staging of the fitness training programme have since been concluded.

 He informed that Dr. Adebukola Bojuwoye, an expert in sports and exercise Medicine, will conduct the exercise with the support of Joel Uzamere, a certified Master trainer /fitness Consultant as well as Dominic Funmilola, a Professor of Exercise and Sports Sciences from the Kwara State University and also member of Sports for All Commission .

Meanwhile, a good number of states and fitness stakeholders have since registered for the seminar ,while many are still applying to be part of it but were being rejected due to space since the NOC is providing accommodations for all the participants

States that have already registered include, Abia, Akwa Ibom Anambra, Ebonyi, Edo, Enugu, Bayelsa, Cross River, Imo, Lagos Jigawa, Kwara, Ogun, Osun, Oyo, Kogi, Taraba. Nasarawa, Kebbi, Kano while Zamfara and the Federal Capital Abuja are also listed.

Chairman of Sports for All Commission, Dr. Abdul Ibrahim, said the Seminar which will be declared open by the President of the NOC Engr. Habu Gumel is aimed at training resource persons as well as capacity building of the participants for them to become qualified fitness Trainers.
