Graciously gifted and hard-working Senior special assistant on grassroots sports development to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, Adeboye Anthony Adeyinka, has boldly said with genuine optimism that the 13th ECOWAS African Wrestling Tournament, will be a huge success.
Adeboye made this big statement in the opening ceremony of the tournament, saying everything is in place for a wonderful and successful event.
“It’s going to be a great and memorable tournament because we have put everything in place for a memorable event. We will not only host, but we are hosting to win because we have talented wrestlers that will make us proud in this tournament, “he said.
“Hosting a big event like this, were top African wrestlers converge is good for us, because it will further expose and prepared our athletes for the world stage, with what I saw during the preparations for this event, I strongly believe our wrestlers will win alot of medals and fly the country’s flag high”, he added.
The 13th ECOWAS African Wrestling tournament started today in Abuja, and Nigerian Wrestling will slog it out with their fellow African counterparts for honours in one of Africa’s most prestigious tournaments.
