Adekanye Admits Burning Desite To Join Lazio

Liverpool of England’s Nigerian-born youngster, Bobby Adekanye has confessed that he is very keen on joining SS Lazio of Italy this summer, despite continued restraint from the top brass at Anfield.

Adekanye earlier missed the chance of joining Lazio last summer, when Liverpool put their feet down on a plausible deal, which the Holland-born rising star was said to have struck in Rome.

However, when everything appeared to have been sorted out for him to enjoy a rosy future at Anfield, Adekanye’s agent has now revealed that his client should be on the move in June.

With Adekanye coming off contract with The Reds in June, his agent, Joseph Minguella Junior says the lad will like to move out of Merseyside and head to Rome, as he has a burning desire to play for Lazio.

The Italian Serie A side have a strong history of Nigerian players in their squad, dating back to the days of Stephen Ayodele Makinwa, Emmanuel Sani, Seyi Adeleke and Eddy Ogenyi Onazi, such that Adekanye should feel very much at home in the team, especially as he would arrive as on the value of his Dutch nationality and with an EU status.

Minguella said: “He’s very interested in playing in Italy, very happy about Lazio’s interest and the possibility of playing there.

“They showed interest and a good project for Bobby. Contacts started a bit over a month ago.

“Bobby decided to not continue at Liverpool because he wants to play somewhere he can grow and show his worth at a high level.

“Lazio is the perfect place. They have experience with youngsters, they give them a chance, and know how to get them to a successful level.

“Adekanye still hasn’t decided on his future, but we are close to an agreement. You’ll know in the next few weeks.”
