With less than 24 hours to the Accord Party governorship primary in Osun State, Governor Ademola Adeleke has finalised plans to defect to the party.

A high-level gathering was underway on Tuesday at the Government House Banquet Hall in Osogbo, where the governor is expected to formally announce his move and seek the Accord ticket for his re-election bid next year.

Top government officials and national leaders of the Accord Party attended the event, many of them sporting the party’s branded caps, signalling the governor’s imminent crossover.

The Accord Party will hold its primary on Wednesday, making Adeleke’s decision strategically timed ahead of the exercise.

In the build-up to the governor’s announcement, several senior media aides had already begun displaying Accord Party symbols on their social media pages.

One of the governor’s media assistants, Oladele Bamiji, posted the party’s insignia on his WhatsApp status with the caption: “Imole Till 2030.”
