AFCON 2023: Calvin Bassey named in Round of 16 Best X1

Super Eagles defender, Calvin Bassey has been included in the Best X1 for the Round of 16 of the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations.

The compilation was done by the authoritative statistics website, Whoscored.com.

Bassey starred in Super Eagles’ impressive 2-0 win over the Indomitable Lions of Cameroon last weekend.

The Fulham player tied up Ademola Lookman for Nigeria’s second goal of the game.

Bassey made four tackles, one interception and won four aerial duels in the game.

The versatile defender also completed four long passes.

The 24-year-old has made four appearances for Nigeria at the 2023 AFCON finals.
