AFCON 2023: Iheanacho To Join Super Eagles Friday

Leicester City forward Kelechi Iheanacho is now expected to join the Super Eagles squad in Abidjan on Friday.

Iheanacho failed to link up with the team in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates due to a muscular injury.

Head coach, Jose Peseiro revealed in an interview with NFF TV after his side’s friendly defeat to Guinea that the striker has fully recovered from the injury.

His Leicester City teammate, Wilfred Ndidi is already ruled out of the competition with injury.

Iheanacho is not expected to feature in Nigeria’s opening game against Equatorial Guinea on Sunday.

OGC Nice forward, Terem Moffi a late replacement for Victor Boniface will link up with the team on Sunday.
