AFCON 2023: Iwobi, Bassey, Lookman other Super Eagles stars off to Abu Dhabi

Five Super Eagles stars, Calvin Bassey, Alex Iwobi, Ademola Lookman, Ola Aina and Joe Aribo are on their way to Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates, to link up with their teammates ahead of the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations.

The quintet are among the 25 players invited by head coach Jose Peseiro for the competition.

The Super Eagles will spend one week in the Middle East country before travelling to Abidjan for Cote d’Ivoire 2023.

Meanwhile, a delegation of players and officials of the team flew out of Abuja to Abu Dhabi on Tuesday afternoon.

Captain Ahmed Musa, Kenneth Omeruo, and Olorunleke Ojo were the players who flew out from Abuja, while others took off from Lagos.

The Super Eagles are expected to hold their first training session in Abu Dhabi on Wednesday.
