AFCON 2023: Osimhen can help Super Eagles win title – Peseiro

Date:

Super Eagles head coach, Jose Peseiro is banking on Napoli hitman, Victor Osimhen to help his side clinch the title at the upcoming 2023 Africa Cup of Nations in Cote d’Ivoire.

Osimhen was top scorer in the qualifiers with 10 goals.

Much will be expected from the striker again, especially after he was crowned best men’s player at the CAF Awards last December.

Peseiro is also rooting for Osimhen to win the tournament’s top scorer award.

“From our team, he (Osimhen) was the highest goal scorer during the qualifiers,” Peseiro said at a dinner organised to celebrate Osimhen’s coronation as Africa’s best player at the team’s training base in Abu Dhabi on Friday night.

“Of course his teammates helped him to achieve that. I hope and wish he wins the highest goal scorer and help us win the tournament,” he added.
