AFCON 2023: Seven players hit Super Eagles camp for Sierra Leone match

Seven squad members have arrived at the Super Eagles camp ahead of the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations qualifying tie against Sierra Leone’s the Leone Stars.

Vice-captain William Troost-Ekong, Ademola Lookman, Joe Aribo, Alex Iwobi, Calvin Bassey, Semi Ajayi, and Kevin Akpoguma are among the early arrivals in camp.

More squad members are expected in camp on Sunday night.

Head coach Jose Peseiro invited 23 players for the game.

The Super Eagles are excepted to hold their first training session at the Mobolaji Johnson Arena, Onikan, Lagos, on Monday.

The encounter will take place at the Samuel Kanyon Doe Stadium in Monrovia, Liberia, next Sunday.

Nigeria needs just a point from the game to seal a spot in Cote d’Ivoire 2023.
