With virtually all leagues tidying up for the season, the Super Eagles are set to open camp in Lagos ahead of their AFCON qualifier against Leone Stars of Sierra Leone.

The Samuel Kanyon Doe Stadium, Monrovia will host the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations qualifying matchday five encounter between the Leone Stars of Sierra Leone and Super Eagles of Nigeria.

The Leone Stars have played all their home games in the qualifiers away from Freetown with no suitable ground in their country to host international matches.

The stadium in Monrovia has an artificial turf similar with the playing surface of the Mobolaji Johnson Arena, Onikan where the three-time African champions will train. Thus the Eagles will be training at Onikan turf to properly shape up on the turf for the forthcoming clash.

Super Eagles top Group A of the qualifiers with nine points and need just a point from the game to secure a place in Cote d’Ivoire 2023.

The Leone Stars occupy third position in the group with five points and need a win to keep their qualification hopes alive.

Super Eagles duo of Wilfred Ndidi and Kelechi iheanacho may have suffered nightmare following Leicester City relegation from the premier league but will certainly be ready to channel energy to the qualifiers for the good of the team.
