AFCON 2023: Super Eagles record historic feat after win against Angola

Date:

The Super Eagles of Nigeria recorded a major historic feat following Friday night’s 1-0 victory over the Palancas Negras of Angola.

It’s the first time the Super Eagles have won four consecutive matches at a single edition of the Africa Cup of Nations without conceding a goal.

Jose Peseiro’s side will look to extend the streak when they take on either Cape Verde or South Africa in the semi-final next week Wednesday.

The three-time champions started their campaign at the AFCON 2023 finals with a 1-1 draw against the Nzalang Nacional of Equatorial Guinea.

The West Africans have remained unbeaten since then and also have the meanest defence in the competition.

They are now the favourites to win the title following the exit of other big guns like Senegal, Morocco, Algeria, Egypt and Ghana.
