AFCON 2023: Uzoho gets Peseiro’s nod to start in goal against Equatorial Guinea

Omonia Nicosia goalkeeper, Francis Uzoho is likely to start in goal for the Super Eagles against Equatorial Guinea.

The widely criticised shot-stopper is battling with Stanley Nwabili and Olorunleke Ojo for the number one spot.

According to camp sources, Uzoho has, however, done better than his rivals in training.

The 25-year-old is highly favoured to be between the sticks against the Nzalang Nacional at the Alassanne Quattara Stadium, Ebimpe Abidjan on Sunday.

Nwabili will be the second choice, while Ojo will be the third goalkeeper.

The encounter against Equatorial Guinea will kick off at 2pm Nigeria time.
