The draw for the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) will take place on Monday, January 27, in Rabat, Morocco. This will determine the group-stage matchups for the 24 teams competing in Africa’s top football tournament.
FIFA President Gianni Infantino and CAF President Dr. Patrice Motsepe are expected to be in attendance for the event.
The 24 participating teams have been placed into four pots, with the six highest-ranked teams from the December FIFA World Rankings in Pot One.
One team from each of the four pots will be drawn into six groups of four teams. This means that the top six ranked teams cannot face each other in the first round.
The top two teams from each group, as well as the four best-ranked third-placed countries, will qualify for the Round of 16.
