AFCON: Angola players promised cash to defeat Super Eagles in quarter-final

Players of the Angola national team have received cash rewards and material gifts, ahead of Friday’s Africa Cup of Nations, AFCON, quarter-final clash with Nigeria.

The Palancas Negras thrashed Namibia 3-0 in the Round-of-16 to qualify.

The oil-rich nation are now seeking an unprecedented semi-final berth at the premier African competition.

According to Angop, Banco Angolano de Investimento (BAI) has given out five million Kwanzas (approximately N5.41 million) to each Angola player and coaching staff for progressing to the last eight.

Also, the President of the Board of Directors of UNITEL, Aguinaldo Jaime, has gifted each member of the Angolan delegation an iPhone 15, complete with complimentary calls, SMS, and free internet for a year.

SODIAM EP has promised the team a substantial US$250,000 (equivalent to N225 million) if they defeat the Super Eagles.
