AFCON: Ebuehi, Collins Land Super Eagles Camp In Garoua

Jamilu Collins and Tyronne Ebuehi have joined their Super Eagles teammates at their base camp in Garoua, venue of their first game in the Africa Cup of Nations that starts this weekend in Cameroon.

Sportsdayonline.com reports that Ebuehi, a right-back, who is on loan from Benfica of Portugal to Venezia of Italy, was delayed by club commitments, while Collins, a left-back with SC Paderborn of Germany, had to settle some personal issues before linking up with the Nigerian squad.

However, while Ebuehi and Collins will join the team at their first training session on Cameroonian soil this Thursday, the reverse is the case with Ighalo, as the Egypt 2019 top scorer was denied assess to honouring his invitation to the Eagles for the upcoming competition, which begins this Sunday and Nigeria play Egypt on Tuesday.

The three-time champions will have their first training session in Cameroon on Thursday evening at Stade Roumdé Adjia, venue of their group games, including Tuesday’s potentially explosive opener against seven-time champions, Egypt; followed by Sudan on 15th January and Guinea-Bissau on the 19th.
