AFCON: Osimhen, Yusuf, others ‘miss’ Super Eagles training

Date:

Ahead of Thursday’s showdown against Cote d’Ivoire, the Super Eagles resumed training on Monday.

Notably absent from the session were Frank Onyeka, William Troost-Ekong, Ola Aina, Simon Moses, Victor Osimhen and Alhassan Yusuf, who rested to aid their recovery post the Equatorial Guinea match.

Reassuringly, the players were merely undergoing a precautionary phase to ensure their optimal condition for upcoming games.

On a positive note, Kelechi Iheanacho participated in the training, indicating his full fitness.

Adding to the positive developments, Terem Moffi made his training debut after rejoining the camp following OGC Nice’s weekend game.

The team is relieved to report no significant injury concerns as they gear up for the critical Thursday clash against Cote d’Ivoire.

Following the result from their first game, Nigeria now face the imperative task of avoiding defeat against Cote d’Ivoire to secure their path and stave off the risk of an early exit.
